During the mid-80’s agricultural crisis, some insurance companies pulled out of the Midwest, leaving bankers nowehere to go for financial institution bond and directors’ and offiercers’ liability coverage.

In 2012, AmTrust Insurance Company purchased BancInsure. As a result, BANCSERVE’s exclusive agreement terminated and the agency was appointed by five other insurance companies (AmTrust, OneBeacon, FinSecure, ABA and CNA). As well, via a broker, the agency has access to other insurance companies.

In 1985, a captive insurance company was formed by 5 banker associations. In 1986, BANCSERVE, a for-profit subsidiary of the Montana Bankers Association, invested $55,000 in Banclnsure stock and wrote $1.2 million in Banclnsure premium in Montana and Wyoming.

BANCSERVE agent, Tempi Ruth, helps risk manage community banks and has specific knowledge in financial institution bond, di rectors’ and officers’ liability insurance, and property casualty coverage. Further, banker to agent and agent to underwriter communication provides rapid responses and product enhancements.

BancInsure entering the market triggered a competitive insurance environment. This force premiums down for ALL Montana and Wyoming banks, saving millions of premium dollars for ALL banks.
